Couples Counseling for New Parents
Aug 03, 2017
When
a couple brings home a new baby and become a family, things aren't
always full of joy. The responsibility of raising a child together and
the endless nights
full of sleep deprivation can cause both parents to become stressed.
While it would be nice if both parents manage to lean on each other
during this time of stress, what often end up happening instead is that
the couple end up resenting each other.
As
if it isn't bad enough that the new parents are stressed, sleep
deprived, and starting to resent each other, often times the couple are
too tired and short on
time to even bother with working on their marriage. Thus, the romance inevitably dies, communication starts to falter, and the distance between
the two partners grow larger and larger with each passing day.
If
nothing gets done to improve the situation, it won't be long before
both partners find themselves wondering why they even bother staying in
the marriage. Then
next thing they know, one of the two partners will be contemplating
about a divorce.
If
you find yourself in the above scenario, it is best to get help as soon
as possible. While it might be tempting to ignore the problem because
you're both too
busy caring for the baby, it's important to realize that your marriage
is worth the time and effort. So find a sitter for the baby. Then contact us for couples counseling
to prevent your marriage from spiraling downward because of the struggles of parenthood.
