Nov 09, 2017
Mindfulness
is becoming touted as essential tool for success; It has been
identified as a multifunctional device to help with many different
challenges, including
invasive symptoms that accompany anxiety.
So now, with busy lives and a multitude of responsibilities, how do we find time to be mindful?
We are here with a few tips to help you get started:
Pay Attention:
It
can be as simple as slowing down and paying more attention to the
moment. While you are taking care of daily obligations, make the time
to slow down and be in
the moment with these tasks. As a successful self investigator, you can
begin to learn your anxiety and find ways that your mind and body
respond to different scenarios and coping skills; you being to notice
what is helpful and unhelpful.
Body Scan:
Take
a moment to check in with your body. Research is coming out with more
and more evidence of a significant correlation between the mind and the
body health.
As you check in with your breath, begin to notice any sensations from
the crown of your head to the tip of your toes. This activity can help
you to understand how you are physiologically experiencing the world
around you in any given scenario; to understand
this mind body relationship is to understand your needs to create an
ultimate system of balance, life satisfaction, and optimal health.
Meditation:
Meditation
can be a helpful ally in the mastery of a healthy relationship with
your anxiety. With the multitude of apps available, practitioners of
all levels can
have access to meditation as a very real option. Some individuals enjoy
guided imagery, others prefer music, while some find white noise more
appealing. There are many ways to experience this mindful coping skill,
making it a great asset to many.
Talk to Someone:
Counseling
is a great place to schedule time to help you incorporate mindfulness
into your week and to learn other skills to help manage your anxiety.
