Defeating Anxiety Without Yoga

Stress releases chemicals into the brain to prepare the body for "fight or flight" responses. This can be helpful when we are in immediate physical danger, but in modern times, stress can join the party at inappropriate times. Stressing too often can contribute to diabetes, weight gain, poor circulation, and even digestion problems. While blogs about meditation and juice cleanses are well-meaning, those remedies simply do not work for everyone.

Bilateral stimulation is an ancient tool that can benefit almost everyone while requiring very little effort from the participant. Bilateral stimulation is an incredibly powerful tool of mindfulness, it's as easy as moving a pen from one hand to the other. These repeated motions create a more pronounced mind/body connection and help the brain process stress that has stuck around too long. Bilateral stimulation is any action that alternately stimulates one side of the body, then the other, such as walking, running, drumming, dancing or biking.

It is widely known that music lights up the whole brain. Bilateral stimulation with music can tear down roadblocks that are normally insurmountable. Audio bilateral stimulation is most effective with music but it can be white noise, nature sounds, even just ambient noise. Listening to a bilateral audio recording with headphones can help you overcome stress, addiction, PTSD, fears, phobias, anger, fatigue, physical injury, and can even help you stop smoking. Listening for an hour a day, even while you do other work, is recommended by experts for the best results.

Bilateral stimulation can increase concentration, relaxation, retention, creativity, and stamina. You can use this tool while you work, exercise, meditate, clean or even while you sleep. Using bilateral sounds, music and activities can train your brain out of harmful habits and help you become the best version of yourself.
