Family Counseling: Picking up the Pieces to Rebuild
Aug 09, 2018
Family
therapy may be a bit challenging to discuss, at first. Together, we can
help break down walls that block healthy boundaries and communication.
We
can help you work through conflicts that have may resulted in a disturbance in family relations.
The
emotional stress endured from unidentified or unresolved issues can
become so great that it can transfer into other areas of your life and,
without you
even knowing it. Family therapy sessions can teach you skills to deepen
family connections and get through stressful times, even after you are
done going to your therapy sessions.
Take,
for instance, your child is experiencing depression. If your family is
having difficulty understanding the emotional struggle your child is
facing,
this could lead to frustration, anger, resentment and ineffective or
failed communication among you, your child, and other family members.
Counseling can help identify dysfunctional relationship patterns.
Counseling also enables families to learn different
methods of interaction to help them overcome unhealthy behaviors of
relating to one each other.
At
times, you may feel hopeless that a particular situation with a loved
one will not be resolved. Please allow us the opportunity to ask the
right questions,
sift through the information you provide, and help you identify and gain
a deeper understanding of the issue at hand. The intent is not to place
blame, but to provide insight and to arrive at a solution.
Self-awareness plays a vital role in therapy.
Counselors
are like coaches, compassionate mentors. Consider us part of your
team, with the goal to help you achieve success. Think of each of our
sessions
as a "team practice," where we discuss strategies and provide
encouragement and support to bring the team to victory.
