Counseling/Therapy and the Coronavirus Pandemic
Mar 26, 2020
Now more than ever is the time to take care of your mental health. We are faced, as a society, with an unprecedented pandemic which is causing turmoil in people’s personal and professional lives. The coronavirus pandemic and its effects have been life altering for all of us. For those of us that have children, it has turned our lives upside down and turned many of us into homeschooling teachers. Out of fear, it has turned many of us into survival and catastrophe preppers. It has made us concerned for our health and the health of our loved ones.
In addition, many people must work from home and have been cut off from societal contact to a large degree. Others, who are less fortunate, have lost their jobs and, if only, temporarily, are feeling the sting of the economic situation that confronts them. Relationships also undergo more stress in times of chaos and uncertainty.
Not taking care of your mental health can lead to a variety of physical health problems. One of the most obvious, is that worry, and anxiety can lead to insomnia and leave you physically and emotionally drained. This, in turn, can lower your overall immune systems and lead you more susceptible to falling ill.
Finding a sense of calm and balance during this crisis, is, obviously, going to be challenging. To meet the needs of my current clients and, new clients, I am offering telephone and video appointments to provide and meet on-going mental health therapy needs.
I have over a decade of experience working with individuals who are suffering from depression, stress, anxiety, grief, and many other issues. My focus is on assisting people with a variety of therapy modalities in working through personal issues, mental obsessions/distractions, lack of fulfilment, and relationship conflicts. Whether you’re in the Fresno, Central Valley area or anywhere else in California, I can provide telephone and video counseling at this time. You can contact my office via phone or email to set up an appointment today.
