Counseling Help for Dating Anxiety Issues

You may suffer from dating anxiety if you want to meet someone new but can't seem to go through with it. Anxiety disorders are prevalent in 30% of the population. Dating anxiety falls under the umbrella of social anxiety. The reasons you may be nervous about dating again are:


Low Self-Esteem

Your confidence and esteem may be a little low from poor experiences or lack of self-affirmation. The key to working past that is putting yourself around people who recognize your beauty and the attributes that make you special. You must understand that you have valuable qualities that a man or woman will love about you.


Fear of Rejection

Fear of rejection can make you hold back and avoid risk. However, you can't gain much if you don't take a chance. Some of the greatest love stories of all time were stories that involved a tremendous amount of risk. Furthermore, rejection is rarely about you, so never let it get you down. Learn to take each rejection as a tip on how you can improve yourself for the next opportunity.


Bad Past Experiences

You may be a little shy if someone has hurt you or caused you trauma in the past. That's understandable. However, you need to understand that not everyone will be like the person who hurt you. Many wonderful people still exist in the world, and it's okay to give one of them a chance. You might just meet the love of your life.


An Anxiety Disorder
